Description

This painting was represents a makeshift memorial in Los Angeles and was created to represent the unifying of America after the bombing on 911 of the World Trade Towers.  It honors the victims of this tragedy.

Acrylic on stretched canvas, 18" x 24", 2001 (the side edges are painted black and it has a hanger on the back)

About the Artist

Antonio Rael is a Los Angeles based Latino Artist. He is published in several Chicano and Mexican American art history books.

Awards/Projects

  • He has created artwork for television including Showtime's Penny Dreadful City of Angels and Judging Amy on CBS.
  • He has created cover artwork for Mariachi USA at the Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood Forever Cemetery's Day of the Dead Event,
  • The Wall-Las Memorias Project, The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and LGBT Los Angeles Latin Pride. 
  • Most recently, he created a mural for RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Emmy Nomination on Melrose Avenue. 
  • His work is collected around the world and continues to create art with his signature Mexican-American style, iconography, imagery, bright colors and bold outlines.
